PROJECT GREEN CHALLENGE

Instructions

Project Green Challenge is a 30 day eco lifestyle challenge to inspire high school and college students across the US and around the world to transition from conventional to conscious living.

Starting on October 1 and ending on October 30, the PGC Team will post a new \challenge each day at 4am Pacific Daylight Time. All registered participants will receive the link to the Challenge page via email.

To Participate

Log in, get a password and then log in each day to access the daily Challenge.

You may register as either an individual or a team. If registering as a team please note the following additional requirements:

  • Each team can be no more than 4 people and; schools can have as many teams as they choose.

  • On October 1, one person should register the entire team and name the team (ie: blue team or green team..you get it!)

  • Any member of the team can upload deliverables each day under the team name.

  • If the team wins, they would receive one prize for the team.

  • If a team applies and is selected for the Challenge finals, only one team member would represent the team and the prize package would be awarded to that person.

No purchase or payment necessary to enter or participate. Void where prohibited. Please review the official rules on the PGC website ( projectgreenchallenge.com), as well as the rules for each challenge, for further details, requirements, and information about the challenge.

PGC Structure

  • There are four (4) challenge options each day - green, greener, greenest and extra credit.

  • With each challenge will come a set of tasks and deliverables that participants will be asked to complete and upload.

  • Each participant must start with the green challenge and then work their way through. The further you delve the more points you accrue and the opportunity to win prizes.

  • Each Challenge will have a different theme and new tasks

  • The tasks you will be asked to complete might include; questions, survey, photos or a video.

  • Each Challenge will remain live for 24 hours and participants must complete challenge tasks during that timeframe unless otherwise noted. (some of the Extra Credit Challenges will have longer response periods).

  • Once the next challenge is posted, there is no going back!

Green Guide

The Green Guide features resources, eco experts, a glossary and an eco look of the day.

Prizes

  • Prizes for each day will be determined by the PGC staff. The requirements for prize eligibility will be specified each day on the Challenge page.

  • You must be an enrolled student (in middle school, high school, college, or university) to be eligible to win prizes.

  • The prizes will be promoted on the TTG/ FB and Twitter platforms at 5 pm pdt the day prior.

  • The Extra Credit challenge will provide extra points that will vary based on difficulty of Challenge. Some will offer additional time to complete the tasks.

  • Entries will be judged for prizes based on creativity, content accuracy, and relevance to the theme of the day

  • Individuals and teams will compete against one another and will be eligible to win prizes based on the total points earned. In the event a team is a winner, the prize will be awarded to the team leader.

  • Winners will be contacted by email and need to respond within 48 hours to claim their prizes.

  • Winners' entries will be posted on the home page at projectgreenchallenge.com (the next day) as will entries from throughout the day.

Points

  • Each completed Challenge task is worth points.

  • Points will be determined and awarded by TTG staff based on the difficulty of the challenge.

  • PGC will host a leader board each day so participants can see who has the most points

  • The points will be one component for selecting the challenge finalists at the end of the month.

  • We will also track number of students participating from each school.

  • There will be a prize for the school with highest percentage of student participation.

Challenges

  • Each Challenge day will have a specific theme; body, fashion, food, fair trade, plastics etc.

  • The challenges are straightforward and fun, designed to inform, mobilize and fit into your busy lifestyles!

  • Resources, articles, videos, and tips will accompany each challenge to help you learn and to assist you with completing the tasks each day.

Sneak Peaks / Hints

  • Each day we will preview not only the prize package for the following days challenge but also give you a heads up on the next days challenge to support your success in completing it!

  • Sneak Peaks and hints will be sent out at 5pm Pacific Daylight Time each day previewing the following day.
